My Newest Addition

Last Saturday, friends and I made another visit to several great shops in the Phoenix area. About two months ago, I saw the below couch. This picture was taken in the shop. I loved it but I resisted. Last Saturday, however, when my eyes saw it again, and there was a hold sign on it, my heart stopped. My girlfriend, Bon, looked and noticed it was past the date posted on the hold sign. I asked and yep, it wasn't on hold any longer... Done... bought it... Too many times I have not purchased something and gone back and been disappointed. It was a deal and often times, in the store, trust me, though fabulous, things are not often within my price range. Yesterday, my husband and I went back to pick it up. It now sits in our Great Room. Smile...

I am trying to decide if I am going to white wash the wood...

Will live with it as is while I finish up other projects !

Honey got another light fixture hung..

This one is in the study.

Finished the sanding and cleaning yesterday of all the pieces.

Started applying base coat last night..

I did not get very far but at least everything is moved inside and ready for more of the fun stuff now !

I am still undecided on the color..

I have hair color today and that is one color that is decided upon ! :)

I will have more time to "think" on it, today !

Estate Sale Purchases

Table has three leaves and was made in 1951..

It is stamped on the bottom of the table

Eight Chairs to go with table..

Upon removing the seats I discovered they have never been recovered...

they are marked 1952 so the set was probably bought in 1952..

My Favorite Purchase..

Double French Desk

Chair Bought that they had with desk..

It is an English style chair but the trim goes well with the desk...

There is another round table I purchased that somehow I did not get a picture taken...

As you can see, there has been lots of sanding going on around here...

I will get a picture of the round table, in the sanded state, and then as before..

Tile For A Beach Condo

I love this tile. It is just the look I want for our newly purchased beach condo, in Florida. ( There will be more about this in the future... We are watching over the make overs but it isn't 

going fast enough for us. All that happened today

was vacuuming away the sanding dust and 

cleaning the pieces to be ready to paint.

 We are getting a little bored hanging out with such 

little progress happening.
