I Will Miss This

I will miss my snow and the constant fires in the fireplace.

I will miss my grandson's 11th birthday on Tuesday. I am leaving a hand created card at school this morning, for his teacher, to place on his desk next Tuesday. We will celebrate his birthday next weekend. Like Christmas, we are missing his birthday for the first time. Makes me sad but------- one of my dear friends, Bonnie, has taught me to spread all the celebrations of an occasion out as long as possible. So now I am doing the same with Chandler. We will take him shopping for some golf clubs sized correctly for his body. He and his grandfather like to play golf. We have been taking him to the golf course since he was three. He is no Tiger Woods but he and his Grandy seem to have just as much fun as Tiger and his father used to have. The following weekend he gets to go snowboarding again and invite his best friend. He wants me to go and watch in the lodge. Guess there will not be golden silence this snowboarding day BUT I won't be missing out on the birthday celebration fun either. Thank you to my angel of a friend, Bonnie, for teaching me this valuable lesson. It has certainly been helpful to me this year!

And From The Dining Room

Remember those leaded glass doors-
From the dining room they lead to-
This little one knows where to stay!

The Fireplace Room
Lucky kitty to have a place like this to relax!

See the double doors-they lead to the screen porch which will wait for another day.
The single door, however, we will travel through now-

This is the room I would make my studio. Notice the ceiling of sky lights?

We are now back in the fireplace room. This darling vintage half door ( yes, the top can be opened while the bottom stays closed) leads to the laundry room.

Inside the laundry room one finds another door which leads to-

Lucky puppy to have such a great place to relax.

The room the Crooks call " The Conservatory"

If you look back at the pictures of the front of the home, in my last post, you will be able to pick out the whereabouts of this wonderful addition.

I don't care what the room is called ,in my opinion, it is pure joy. I only dabble in gardening. I am afraid I am one of those people that wants my landscaping and gardens to just appear ,with maybe a little digging in the dirt. If I had a room like this I might be tempted to try a lot more digging. I would at least move my computer out to this room every now and then just to take it all in while I clicked.

But then there are still yet places I would love to be clicking inside this charmer.

Stay tuned later in the week for more.

Silence Is Golden Sometimes

Alright, I just don't seem to ,be able to get it right today---but that is alright! My text for Silence Is Golden Sometimes ,is at the end of these pictures. Please enjoy these pictures of the most adorable cottage belonging to the Crooks in Brentwood, TN. I took loads of pictures of this amazing home. I hope to share them all with you, a few at a time, in the upcoming posts.

The Crooks welcoming us.
See that rose arbor--it is in full bloom in the spring!
The foyer inside the front door. To the back you see
the entrance to the living room.

The white doors at the back lead to the back patio and grounds.
You will see these in a later posts.

Dining Room

Another view of the dining room. Notice that gorgeous door
leaning up against the wall. Not to mention the vintage leaded doors
leading into the fireplace room.
Enough eye candy for now. Blogger is taking a way long time to upload my pictures! More later of this darling hideaway.

I have been alone now for about two hours. It is the first time I have been alone this long in months. All I hear is the crackling of the wood in the fireplace. It is snowing outside. Grandy has taken Chandler snowboarding. This morning we were all quite distraught. The roads were bad. A truck got stuck right in front of our driveway. All of us have been looking forward to this day. Chandler got a new snowboard and bindings from us for Christmas. Grandy has not skied in over 15 years ( he will not be able to walk tomorrow he will be so sore!) I just wanted to be alone in my house to hear the golden silence. As we watched the snow, the stuck truck, and Randy checked the roads we all thought our excitement for the fun day for each of us was not going to happen. Luckily though, the truck in front of our driveway got unstuck. The owners told Randy if he could make it off our street the rest of the roads were fine. He decided to give it a whirl. YES! YES! YES! I need some golden silence in my life. For the first hour I just walked around and picked up the house. I was just so happy to hear silence that I did not know what I really wanted to do with my time. I want a nap but I almost don't want to give away the precious silence time with being asleep! I took a picture of the snow and a picture of the fire in the fireplace to go with this post. But since I have golden silence I have run into an obstacle. I do not have my tech guy here and I am having computer downloading problems. I will have to forgo the pictures that go with this post. I am still relishing in the golden silence. It is beautiful. Let me share a beautiful cottage in TN with you. Trust me, this house will treat your eyes with much more eye candy than the ones I can't download at the moment. I hope each and everyone adds to your day's pleasure and may each of us grab a few moments of golden silence as often as possible.

It Is Nearing

It is nearing the time for fireworks

It is nearing the click of glasses

It is nearing the midnight kiss

It is nearing the toasts of the new year

It is nearing the time for my eyes to grow heavy

It is nearing the next second in which I will continue to pray for my one and only daughter and for the emotional coping of our ten year old grandson who gratefully lies safely asleep in our home. We know not where she is, at the moment, and have no way of reaching her since her cell phone has been disconected. There is much more to this story, but for now it is enough to say -------
It is nearing the time to greater understand the value of living in the moment instead of fearing the future.

I Have Decided

I have decided to open the door to my blogging again. I might blog just one sentence and then again I might blog a book.

I have decided my blog does not have to be wonderful. Sometimes it will be and sometimes it won't--just like the me that I am.

I have decided I will share all of my world, the good, the bad and the ugly. I will also share the beautiful.

I have decided some of my greatest inspiration is from my heart. My heart needs to have a place to just be-----

I have decided to try to visit some of my blog friends, at least once a week. I know if it does not happen my friends will forgive me, for missing my time with them.

I have decided there is valid reason for my sadness right now. Sharring who I am has always been, for me, one of my virtues. I have never been one to hide the dirty laundry.

I have decided to recognize that each year represents new beginnings as does each day.

I have decided to wish myself a happy day this 31st of December and a Happy New Year come midnight.

I have decided to wish the same blessing for you----the human friend that is reading this blog at this very moment.
